Serbia and a region are not falling behind when it comes to important conferences, gathering the industry heavyweights from the IT and HR as two sectors became inseparable. Depending on your preferences, it’s not easy to make the right choice and decide which one to attend. Among many, here are just a few prominent conferences to attend.
Spark.me – The biggest conference around
Over the years, Spark.me has become the leading conference in the region. The organization comes a long way from back 2013 when the first conference was held. Since then, they are continuously improving the quality of the program. Their mission is to raise awareness and show all the perks that the internet and new technologies are bringing. Likewise use this knowledge to improve life for the people in Southeast Europe, through education, competition, and networking. Spark.me in 2018 has gathered more than 500 attendees from 28 countries.
This year the event took a place in beautiful Porto Montenegro, a Mediterranean famous luxury yacht marina, located in the central part of Boka Bay in Tivat City. The conference has brought up stories from the front lines of disruptive technological solutions, innovative business models, engaging marketing strategies, and world-changing initiatives. All this was presented by some of the world’s most influential thinkers and brands. Their goal is not to become the biggest conference, with the greatest number of speakers and attendees. Rather, to become the event that will trigger the biggest change. They tend to keep their delicate approach. When organizing their annual conferences, they are paying attention to every single detail, as all speakers are carefully picked and very well pampered.
HR Week – New conference in Serbia
By the end of the year, a brand-new conference will see the light of the day. HR Week will be happening from the 2nd to 6th of December in Belgrade’s biggest sports arena “Kombank Dvorana”. The organizers have prepared a special program. It is designed to share education, inspire HR professionals across the region, and provide the hottest insights for best practices and the HR future. The organization is bringing the leading HR experts and accomplished practitioners to deliver keynote presentations, case studies, and masterclasses on each of the five days. Included in each day is an expo of HR services where leading industry exhibitors will showcase their products and services to a large HR audience.

Another important conference took place in April in a lovely venue of Madlenianum Theatre.. This was the 4th annual event, with experienced and knowledgeable speakers getting together. All the participants had the opportunity to learn how to self-improve networking and career development. More than 550 people, coming from different backgrounds took participation this year. Driven by the quotation “Sharing is caring” their goal is to provide exactly the same chances for Agile adoption, whether you belong IT or not, as their motto was saying: “Agile, In & Beyond IT”. Agile is already a trusted partner to many teams and companies who want to be market leaders in their industries.
itKonekt – Bringing IT hotshots together
For the fourth year in a row, itKonekt brings together the best IT hotshots at the same place. The event was in April, this year in Belgrade’s Hotel Metropol. The organization is also participating in a job fair to present the least desired IT companies, to work for. They should be proud as some of their speakers are coming from Google, Microsoft, PayPal, Facebook, etc. Apart from the conference, they have also organized an amazing workshop, with leading Google Developer Expert from UK, Harry Robertson. In 2019 they will organize 3 different conferences in 3 cities.
